An International Call to Alert!
SAVE KENNETH FOSTER!
By Liliana Segura
Kenneth Foster’s time is running out. After ten years on death row, the state of Texas is gearing up to kill him on August 30 for a murder he didn’t commit. Foster was convicted for the 1996 murder of Michael LaHood Jr., who was shot following a string of robberies, by a man named Mauriceo Brown. Brown admitted to the shooting and was executed by lethal injection last year. Now Foster faces the same fate. So, if Brown was the shooter, what did the 19-year-old Foster do to get a death sentence? He sat in his car, 80 feet away, unaware that a murder was taking place......

ReplyDeleteEddie this is Mark Bey from the ABA. You have joined the convict work
force committee. I just wanted to send you an article I wrote about
employing non voilent criminals as carpenters, Landscapers etc to rebuild
New Orleans instead of rotting in jail.
http://progressatallcost.blogspot.com/2007/05/convict-workforce.html
Let me know what you think of the plan I have got some Ideas on
starting the initial work crews using black churches to train these young
non voilent criminals in carpentry then deploy them down to New Orleans
instead of having them sit enjoy. After we finalized details of the
plan, find at least one church who is willing to host one of these programs
then we can go to the goverment for faith based initiative money.
Remember the goverment is already wipping egg off of its face about
the prior Katrina debacle, So we should be able to apply pressure to the
proper goverment orginazations to get funding if we can get a credible
black church to host a pilot program.
Eddie like you said we dont have to reinvent the wheel we can use
existing programs and go after appropriate goverment and private funding
to make this happen.
Thanks Mark. I will be looking into these ideas as soon as I can. Reentry employment is a high priority.
